Directors:
Beginning in the 2007 Indiana Percussion Association
competitive season, units will be required to secure
copyright permission, when applicable, and submit
this information to the IPA, Inc. All music
arrangements and compositions must be reported.
Please be aware of item “XXIII. Copyright
Permission” in the IPA, Inc. Methods of Operation.
Consult this document for more information.
New for 2008 and
ALL seasons thereafter:
All registered units may now submit their
Copyright Permission Information online in
the Director's Area.

XXIII. COPYRIGHT PERMISSION:
A. Copyright permission will be required of all
IPA, Inc. member groups.
B. If you plan to use music you have not personally
composed, you need to complete the
Permission to Arrange Form, or whatever
paperwork is provided to you by the specific
publisher, and forward to the IPA, Inc. President
Elect.
C. If you plan to use “original music” you need to
fill out the
Original Composition Form and forward to the
IPA, Inc. President Elect.
D. Groups should consult the following website for
more information and resources concerning copyright:

E. The deadline that these forms must be submitted
by is 2nd Monday in January of the current season.
F. All copyright permission must be received by the
IPA, Inc. President-Elect one (1) day before the IPA, Inc.
State Finals.
G. Units not complying with copyright requirements
will not be recorded on the IPA, Inc State Finals
DVD.
ALL UNIT
DIRECTORS/DESIGN TEAMS SHOULD BEGIN
MAKING EARLY PREPARATIONS FOR THIS TASK.

FEE RESTRUCTURING:
At the Spring Post Season Meeting held at Plainfield
High School on May 13, 2006 the following fees were
voted on and approved for the 2007 seasons and
beyond:
- Membership Fees increased to $250.00
- Invitational/State Prelims increased to $75.00
- State Finals fees remain at $125.00
